Cumbé
Colombian Traditional Music Ensemble · Berlin, Germany
Founded in 2025, Cumbé is my passion project that brings the rich sounds of traditional gaita music from the Montes de María to Berlin's diverse cultural landscape. We explore the rhythms and melodies of Colombia's Caribbean coast, with gaita hembra, gaita macho, llamador, tambor alegre, and tambora.
Gaita
Traditional Colombian flute from the coastal regions. A beautiful wind instrument with a haunting, melodic quality that's central to cumbia and other Colombian rhythms.
Bandola Llanera
String instrument from the Eastern Plains (Llanos Orientales). Part of the lute family, it produces bright, resonant tones perfect for joropo. Currently studying this beautiful instrument of llanera music.
Music Harmony
Currently studying music theory and harmony to deepen my understanding of composition, arrangement, and the theoretical foundations of traditional Colombian music.
